How the game went
President Kennedy was assassinated just over an hour after Clemson’s buses left for Columbia on November 22. Both schools first planned to play the next day, but as games across the country were postponed, Clemson and South Carolina announced at 10 p.m. that theirs would move to Thanksgiving Day.
The game had been set to be only the second regular-season game televised in Clemson history, but it was not shown on CBS as planned.
